Commander's Brief
Business ideas, jobs for veterans, and other cool stuff for ex-military.
America is enamored with SOF.
We have tons of movies and TV shows, especially in the GWOT era, about SOF.
SOF influencers are all over social media.
They comment on news networks.
Your average American thinks SOF = super human.
Corporate America thinks SOF = best leaders.
I recently spoke with a retired SEAL officer who served in JSOC.
“Everyone thinks SOF makes the best leaders. They don’t. The best leaders in the military came from regular units.”
I just liked that a lot and it’s not something you hear every day, soI wanted to share.
Veteran Business of the Week
The guys from Crew Dog recently sent me one of their shirts.
Class, clean designs.
I like them, go check it out.
Resource of The Week
I recently had the founder of Divergence Academy on the show.
They offer a full suite of IT training and are GI Bill eligible.
Courses include the basics like Comp TIA and CMMC, but they also have advanced offerings for AI.
Very cool stuff and they are great at helping people land jobs afterward.
Business Idea of The Week
Interested in buying a business?
You probably know about BizBuySell.
But here is a better way:
Drive around your town, look for a place with a lot of people at it, and approach the owner about getting a cup of coffee to learn more.
That’s seriously how it happens sometimes.
Go crush it,
Mark
