Commander's Brief
Business ideas, jobs for veterans, and other cool stuff for ex-military.
I sometimes struggle with what to write in this opener.
Today is one of those days.
When this happens, I go back to asking myself why I am doing this.
And the answer is, I want to support the veteran community.
So today I am going to spin the tables around and ask you what I can help with.
Are you looking for your next career?
Need recommendations to a veteran resource?
Have questions about buying a small business or starting one?
Feel free to comment on this or just respond via email.
Whatever it is, I would love to help.
And if I cannot, I will do my best to point you in the right direction.
Veteran Business of the Week
I’m a new dad and so baby gear is top of mind.
Hot dang there is a lot of it.
And if you have ever been around babies, they like to do something a lot.
Obviously, poop and sleep and cry.
But also throw their stuff on the floor.
That’s where Busy Baby comes in.

Busy Baby makes play mats with tethers so that baby toys and spoons, when inevitably dropped, don’t end up on the floor.
For anyone who has ever had to tie down their equipment, you immediately get this problem.
Founded by an Army veteran who got to pitch this on Shark Tank, they have been in business for a number of years.
They are also directly hit by the tariffs in place right now.
So I encourage you to buy something from them or support their GoFundMe so they don’t go out of business.
Check them out.
Resource of The Week
If you have listened to the podcast, you know I have had multiple guests who have come on and talked about how psychedelics have helped them with mental health issues related to their time in the military.
One of the premier organizations out there helping veterans access these types of therapies is Heroic Hearts. Founded by a veteran of the 75th Ranger Regiment, they organize retreats for veterans to work with psychedelic-assisted therapy to ease their combat-related trauma.
I have heard nothing but phenomenal things about them and encourage you to visit their site to learn more.
New Stuff

Listen HERE to learn about Matthew’s transition into medical device and then tech sales, both career fields where you can make a lot of money through hustle.
If you are interested in tech sales, you definitely need to check out Shift Group. I actually went through their training program myself and thought it was highly impactful in understanding the tech sales function and why veterans can succeed in this area.
