How to Get Lucky

This week, I had a phone call that could end up changing my life.

Sorry- I don’t want to jinx it so I am not going to say what it was about because, as they say, “it ain’t over ‘till the fat lady sings.”

But it got me thinking about luck. Some may look at this even for me and say

“Wow. You lucked out big time.”

I have to recognize that sometimes the universe just works in your favor. And I also have to recognize that you can increase the odds of that happening.

A Metaphor

Take the game of basketball.

You don’t just magically make a three-point shot.

You have to choose to take the shot.

You have to choose to get on the court.

You have to choose to play the game.

The point is, if you choose to sit on the sidelines, you are never going to make that three-pointer.

Conclusion

If you want to get lucky, you have to put yourself in the game.

Put yourself in a position to have good things happen to you.

Who knows, you might just get lucky.
